A narcomanta accompanied by a cooler containing animal remains was discovered shortly after midnight on Tuesday, August 13, at Miguel Hidalgo Park in the center of Tecate. The threatening message was aimed at Prosecutor María Elena Andrade.

Surveillance footage reveals that at least two individuals arrived in a Honda vehicle driven by a third person. They quickly placed the narcomanta and cooler at the park’s kiosk before fleeing the scene.

The message on the banner read:
_”Maria Elena Andrade Ramírez, stop sending your dog, Juan Carlos Buenrostro Molina, to keep making deals with the ‘CdS.’ If you continue to turn a blind eye, we will take retaliation!! Sincerely: CJNG.”_

The local police secured both the cooler and the narcomanta. In response to the threat, María Elena Andrade stated, “If the intention is to instill terror, that will not happen.”

“We remain committed. I have over 35 years of experience in security and justice and understand the risks involved in the role. Our work is transparent, and this will not deter us,” continued Andrade.

She also emphasized that the region maintains freedom of movement for its citizens and reiterated that law enforcement is focused on maintaining transparency and justice. “We will continue to ensure safety and justice in the community without any undue influence,” Andrade concluded.
