The Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection and Firefighters in Tecate reported a heartbreaking incident on Sunday where three individuals drowned at a lake in the Ciénega Redonda area. The victims included two women and one man from the same family, all originating from Tijuana.
Eyewitnesses stated that a 17-year-old girl showed signs of distress while swimming in the lake. In an attempt to rescue her, two adults—later identified as Juan Ramírez García, 59, and Esmeralda Pacheco Santos, 24—entered the water. Unfortunately, all three family members were overcome by the conditions and did not survive.
