Stalled House Commissions Delay Work

House of Representatives commissions remain unestablished, hindering legislative progress. Vásquez Hernández criticizes delay, highlighting the impact on key reforms. Urgent resolution sought for effective governance and lawmaking.

### Commissions in the House of Representatives Have Not Been Established: Vásquez Hernández

The commissions within the Chamber of Deputies have yet to be established, making it impossible to assess secondary laws related to recently approved reforms or to draft new laws, noted Eva María Vásquez Hernández, a federal deputy from the National Action Party (PAN).

“We have not established the commissions, and no work has been done in this regard. It has been challenging for the ruling party to control their own parliamentary groups, and there has not been an opening for the establishment of commissions. We hope this will be resolved soon,” Vásquez Hernández expressed.

The deputy pointed out that without established commissions in the Lower House, it is impossible to draft new modifications or laws. She added that constitutional reforms approved to modify the functioning of the Federal Judicial Power (PJF) could still be subject to changes due to various legal resources presented for a reevaluation.

“Nothing is set in stone because there was no openness to dialogue. There were significant errors and flaws in the process, rendering this initiative void,” Vásquez Hernández remarked.

She emphasized the hope for a favorable resolution to these resources that would allow for a return to drafting, analysis, and consensus-building, with a new vision for an integrally proposed reform.

The deputy also mentioned that the judicial bodies must respond to these resources before the popular vote begins for judges and magistrates and before the judicial powers of the states are modified.

### Secondary Article: Ongoing Delays in Establishing House Commissions

According to additional sources, the delay in forming the commissions in the House of Representatives has become a critical issue. The ruling party’s difficulty in maintaining control over its parliamentary groups has significantly contributed to the holdup. Legislators from multiple parties are calling for urgent resolution, arguing that legislative progress is being hampered across the board.

In recent legislative sessions, several deputies have voiced their frustrations, highlighting that the impasse is affecting various critical areas, including economic policies, public health, and national security.

“The establishment of commissions is vital for the democratic process and legislative efficiency,” commented a political analyst. “Without them, the ability to draft, debate, and implement new laws is severely compromised, leading to stagnation on crucial issues affecting the country.”

Efforts to push the ruling party towards a resolution continue, with hopes that forthcoming sessions will see a breakthrough, enabling the legislative body to function more effectively.
