### Soles Dominate Mineros in an Impressive Victory
The Soles de Mexicali showcased their dominance with a decisive 96-55 victory over the Mineros de Zacatecas, securing the seventh spot in the 2024 LNBP season standings after a series of favorable results.
From the onset, Soles erupted offensively, executing a variety of plays including a remarkable half-court shot by Víctor Álvarez and dynamic alley oops assisted by Kenneth Faried. The first quarter set the tone with Soles rapidly taking a 9-0 lead within two minutes, concluding the quarter at 29-9. Despite a slight pushback from Mineros in the second quarter, Soles maintained their momentum, ending that period 22-15.
By the third quarter, Soles had stretched their lead to a commanding 51-24, even pushing beyond a 30-point advantage at times. They solidified their triumph in the final quarter with a 22-19 score, leaving fans with plenty to celebrate. This victory, coupled with Panteras’ defeat of Dorados 81-76, allowed Soles to advance in the standing, positioning them to potentially host the Play-In at Auditorio PSF next weekend.
Individually, Kenneth Faried shined with his second consecutive double-double, recording 13 points and 12 rebounds. Michael Watkins also achieved a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Víctor Álvarez contributed an all-round performance of 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Ryan Pearson and Erik Thomas added 15 and 12 points respectively.
The Mineros struggled, with no player scoring more than ten points; Ater Majok, Brandon Nazione, Luis Andriasi, and Alexander Kappos each managed just seven points. Following this series, Soles will conclude their regular season at home with games against reigning champions Fuerza Regia de Monterrey on October 15 and 16 at 8 PM.
