## Outgoing Governors from Veracruz, Chiapas, Tabasco, and Puebla to Join Sheinbaum’s Cabinet
Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the presumptive President of Mexico, announced on August 12, 2024, that she has extended invitations to the outgoing governors of Veracruz, Chiapas, Tabasco, and Puebla—all members of Morena—to join her administration. However, she did not specify the positions they would be occupying.
Notably absent from Sheinbaum’s list is Cuautémoc Blanco Bravo, the current governor of Morelos. Blanco will serve as a federal deputy in the Morena parliamentary group via proportional representation.
“All colleagues stepping down from their state governments will participate in the federal government. I have invited them. This includes Martí Batres Guadarrama of CDMX, and the governors of Chiapas, Tabasco, and Veracruz,” Sheinbaum said. “The governor of Morelos remains a deputy and Governor of Puebla has also been invited,” she added during a press conference at her transition house in Iztapalapa.
The outgoing governors anticipated to join Sheinbaum’s cabinet are Martí Batres Guadarrama from Mexico City, Rutilio Cruz Escandón Cadenas from Chiapas, Carlos Manuel Merino Campos from Tabasco, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina from Puebla, and Cuitláhuac García Jiménez from Veracruz.
