**TEPJF to Deliver Certificate of Election to Claudia Sheinbaum on August 15**
Mónica Aralà Soto Fregoso, the presiding magistrate of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF), confirmed on August 5, 2024, that the certificate of majority will be presented to Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on Thursday, August 15. Sheinbaum, the former presidential candidate of the coalition “Sigamos Haciendo Historia,” is backed by the Morena party, the Labor Party (PT), and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).
Through a video posted on the TEPJF’s official social media account, Soto Fregoso announced that the Tribunal had received 243 challenges against the presidential election results, all of which are now ready for resolution.
“On June 2, the electoral process took place nationwide, where citizens elected various positions, including the presidency of the United Mexican States. The TEPJF received 243 challenges against the presidential election results,” explained Soto Fregoso.
“As of today, I can inform you that all the related projects of sentencing have been properly circulated and are ready for resolution. I will propose to the Tribunal’s plenary to hold public sessions in the coming days to address all the challenges linked to the presidential election,” she added.
“Afterward, we will proceed to analyze and potentially approve the final tally, declaration of validity, and elected presidency of the United Mexican States. This session is planned for Wednesday, August 14. Following this, and if the report is approved, I will call for a solemn session for the delivery of the certificate of majority to be held on Thursday, August 15,” emphasized Soto Fregoso.
“I would like to reiterate that the TEPJF has always acted in adherence to the principles of impartiality, independence, and autonomy. Respecting the constitutional framework has been the guiding vector in this electoral process and will remain a constant,” concluded Soto Fregoso.
On July 18, Claudia Valle Aguilasocho joined the Tribunal to complete the necessary quorum. Aguilasocho has been serving as the president of the Monterrey Regional Chamber in Nuevo León since 2016. Magistrates Felipe Alfredo Fuentes Barrera and Felipe de la Mata Pizaña submitted the sentencing project for the Federal Electoral Process of 2023-2024 to the Procedural Commission on July 23. This project aims to validate the presidential election held on June 2, in which Sheinbaum Pardo emerged victorious.
