## TEPJF Delivers Majority Certificate to Claudia Sheinbaum as President-Elect

In a historic event, the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF) presented Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo with the certificate of majority, officially recognizing her as the President-elect of Mexico. Sheinbaum, the former presidential candidate of the “Sigamos Haciendo Historia” coalition comprising Morena, the Labor Party (PT), and the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico (PVEM), is set to become the first woman to assume the presidency on October 1, 2024.

This significant occasion took place during a solemn session on August 15, 2024. The day prior, the TEPJF unanimously approved the final computation of the presidential election, validating the electoral process and declaring Sheinbaum eligible for the presidency. This marks the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in Mexican politics, with Sheinbaum set to lead the nation and its Armed Forces as the supreme commander.

The session was attended by a plethora of distinguished guests, including Sheinbaum’s family, her husband Jesús María Tarriba Unger, friends, secretaries of state, government officials at various levels, military leaders, legislators, Supreme Court ministers, political party leaders, businessmen, and other special invitees. Notably absent was the current President, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The certification was signed by the magistrates of the TEPJF Superior Chamber – Mónica Aralí Soto Fregoso (President), Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón, Felipe Alfredo Fuentes Barrera, Felipe de la Mata Pizaña, and Janine Madeline Otálora Malassis. Claudia Valle Aguilasocho was also present to fulfill the legal quorum.
