“We stayed vigilant to ensure the celebrations were conducted orderly, and we can proudly say that this year’s Independence Day celebration ended without any significant incidents,” said Sánchez González.

Approximately 50,000 people gathered to participate in the “Grito de Independencia” ceremony. The SSPCM deployed over 400 officers strategically throughout the city, particularly in key areas such as Zona Centro and Río, where the main events took place.

“We were present on Avenida Revolución and throughout the Zona Centro, as well as along Bulevar Agua Caliente, where a vehicle parade was held to celebrate our Independence,” added Sánchez González.

According to the Civil Protection and Fire Department, the area around the Miguel Hidalgo roundabout, near the municipal palace, was filled with attendees for the “Grito” ceremony and a concert by Sonora Dinamita de Lucho Argain.

Sánchez González also mentioned that DUI checkpoints operated within normal parameters and that an unrelated armed attack occurred on Calle Sexta during the festivities.
