**College Seeks to Update Outdated Computer Lab with Charity Running Event**
The Salesian Don Bosco College is tackling the challenge of its outdated computer lab by organizing a charity run to fund the purchase of new equipment. This endeavor aims to enhance the educational experience for 180 students who will benefit from the renewed facilities. The initiative is part of the annual commemorative athletic event hosted by Cesun University, set to take place on December 14.
Adrián Flores Ledesma, director of Cesun University, emphasized the importance of this event as a social cause, highlighting the continuous support for the Salesian group through various projects in the city. The college, located in the Mariano Matamoros neighborhood, currently operates with computer equipment that hasn’t been updated in over a decade, as mentioned by Claudia Portela, director of Project Salesiano.
The charity run will feature a 5-kilometer course, and tickets are priced at 150 pesos. Participants can purchase them at the Fit Gym located within Macroplaza or directly at Cesun University. The event is projected to attract around 600 participants, with registration benefits including hydration stations and medals for the top three male and female finishers.
Project Salesiano extends beyond just education, providing shelter and comprehensive care to women and minors who are victims of displacement or violence. The funds raised will not only enhance the students’ learning environment but also contribute to the overall mission of the Salesian projects within Tijuana.
In addition to the fundraising run, the university plans to engage students from its psychology program in social services across various departments of the Project Salesiano, further fostering collaboration.
