**Charity Run Event Announced to Support Breast Cancer Survivors**

This October 27th, a charity run organized by the Breast Reconstruction Surgery Charity Foundation (CARMA) will take place, aimed at supporting women who have survived breast cancer through reconstructive surgeries. The 5-kilometer race will start and finish at the Rosarito Convention Center.

Eduardo Góngora, a plastic surgeon and director of Clínica Génesis, emphasized the importance of this sports event, which aims to raise funds for reconstructive surgeries for four breast cancer survivors who have undergone mastectomies. Since its founding 14 years ago, CARMA has facilitated over 200 post-mastectomy reconstructive surgeries.

The event welcomes the general public, with an entry fee of 250 pesos. Participants can run, walk, or jog the 5-kilometer route, and pets are also welcome. Góngora urged the community to get involved and raised awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention. He strongly advised women over 40 to have annual mammograms and ultrasounds.

Across the nation, initiatives like CARMA’s charity run are gaining momentum, highlighting an increasing public commitment to breast cancer awareness and support. October is widely recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and various communities and organizations host events to emphasize the importance of early detection and treatment options.

Recent studies have shown that increased public awareness and participation in such events have significantly contributed to early diagnosis and a higher success rate in breast cancer treatments. Health care providers continue to advocate for regular check-ups and provide educational resources to empower women—and men—in maintaining breast health.

The collective effort in organizing awareness campaigns and charity events aims not only to provide support for survivors but also to foster a stronger sense of community. These gatherings also offer survivors the chance to share their stories and inspire others who may be fighting a similar battle.

As the understanding and support for breast cancer grow, more communities are expected to follow suit, creating a hopeful future for those affected by this condition.
