Rosarito Wire Fall Disrupts Chat

Santa Ana winds cause power outages in Rosarito and Tijuana neighborhoods. Emergency crews work to restore services and address wind-related incidents for community safety.

### Electrical Wire Fall Causes Communication Disruption in Rosarito

On the morning of Tuesday, December 10th, neighborhoods near Lomas Altas in Rosarito were cut off from communication following the fall of several electrical wires onto Avenida Loma Grande. This incident resulted from the powerful Santa Ana winds that began Monday night.

Further disturbances were noted with utility pole falls on Boulevard Benito Juárez and between Paraíso Este and Perla Street, also in the Lomas de Rosarito area. As a consequence, power outages were reported by residents via social media platforms in the neighborhoods of Popotla, Los Ramos, Cumbres de Rosarito, Villabonita, Benito Juárez, Melchor Ocampo, Real de Rosarito, Constitución Parte Alta, Ampliación Plan Libertador, Aztlán housing development, Cumbres del Mar, Villas de Costa Rica, Primo Tapia Parte Alta, and San Miguel.

Currently, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has not released an official statement regarding these disruptions. However, sources confirm that efforts are underway to gather necessary information for resolution. There is no estimated time for service restoration in the affected areas, nor a timeline for repairing the fallen cables.

It’s important to note that the outages are not directly linked to the Santa Ana winds. Instead, they correlate with the arrival of cold front number 14, which the National Weather System reports will bring minimum temperatures between 15 and 10 degrees Celsius, and freezing conditions in Baja California’s mountainous regions, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 5 degrees.

### More Communities Affected by Santa Ana Winds in Tijuana

Similar weather conditions have led to additional power outages across Tijuana neighborhoods, also attributed to Santa Ana winds. These adverse conditions have heightened the need for Civil Protection advisories, as communicated ahead of time by local authorities.

These strong winds have reportedly led to several small fires in the Tijuana area, with six actively being managed by emergency services as of the latest updates. Residents are urged to stay informed about weather changes and adhere to safety recommendations to minimize risks during these wind events.

Authorities continue to work tirelessly to manage and mitigate the aftermath of these powerful winds, ensuring that the safety and well-being of residents remain a top priority.
