Four State Police officers have been temporarily relieved from their posts in Rosarito amid growing concerns involving their conduct. This action follows two formal complaints lodged since the State Police assumed command of local security on March 7th.
According to Laureano Carrillo RodrÃguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, one complaint is currently being handled by the State Attorney General’s Office, and the other by the Internal Control Body of the security department. “We have received allegations concerning the state police, and two formal complaints are under investigation,” Carrillo RodrÃguez commented.
The Secretary also noted that although rumors are circulating on social media, no formal reports have been added to those already on file.

Since their takeover on March 7th, the State Police have taken the reins of security operations in Rosarito, relieving 264 municipal officers. These officers are currently undergoing extensive psychological, medical, and toxicology examinations, as well as social background checks and polygraph tests. Their firearms are also being scrutinized for serial numbers and codes as part of a thorough vetting process.
