**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed Amid Complaints in Rosarito**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily relieved from their duties in Rosarito following two formal complaints since the state police assumed control of local security on March 7th. According to the Secretary of Citizen Security of Baja California, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office and the other with the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We have received two formal complaints about the state police, and investigations are underway.” He also acknowledged that allegations have surfaced on social media, although no further formal reports have been filed.

**Officers Reassigned Amid Ongoing Investigation**

Regarding the status of the four officers, Carrillo Rodríguez clarified that they have been reassigned for safety purposes while the Internal Control Body conducts its investigation. “There is no evidence linking them to the accusations, but they have been moved while we investigate,” he explained.

Since March 7th, the State Police have overseen security in Rosarito, replacing 264 municipal officers who are currently undergoing psychological, medical, and toxicology tests. These officers are also undergoing social background checks and polygraph exams as part of a vetting process. Their firearms are being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

The accountability shown in this situation could signify the beginning of necessary reform within Rosarito’s security forces.
