**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Relocated in Rosarito Following Complaints**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily removed from their posts in Rosarito after two formal complaints emerged since the state police took over local security operations on March 7th. Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, confirmed that one complaint was filed with the State Attorney General’s Office, while another was directed to the Internal Control Body of the security department.

“We’ve had citizens voice concerns about the state police. As of now, there are two formal cases under investigation,” Carrillo Rodríguez stated. He also mentioned that allegations circulating on social media are being examined, but no further formal reports have come to light.

**Officers Reassigned Amid Investigation**

Addressing the situation of the four officers, Carrillo Rodríguez explained that they have been relocated for their safety while an investigation by the Internal Control Body is underway. “There is currently no evidence linking them to these accusations, yet they have been reassigned during this investigative period,” he noted.

Since March 7th, the State Police have assumed responsibility for security in Rosarito. Meanwhile, the 264 municipal officers are undergoing a comprehensive vetting process, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Additionally, their firearms are being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

It’s a rare occurrence to witness officers being held accountable, but this could mark the start of a much-needed cleanup within Rosarito’s security forces.
