**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Reassigned in Rosarito Due to Complaints**
In Rosarito, four State Police officers have been temporarily reassigned following two formal complaints since the state police assumed responsibility for local security on March 7th. Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo RodrÃguez, disclosed that one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while the second was submitted to the Internal Control Body of the security department.
Carrillo RodrÃguez acknowledged receiving complaints from the public concerning the state police, marking two formal cases currently under investigation. He also noted that although allegations are circulating on social media, no further formal reports have been registered.
In detailing the adjustments regarding the four officers, Carrillo RodrÃguez stated they have been relocated to ensure safety while undergoing a thorough investigation by the Internal Control Body. “There is no evidence at this time connecting them to the accusations, but they have been reassigned during the investigation process,” he clarified.
Since taking over on March 7th, the State Police have been responsible for maintaining security in Rosarito, taking over from 264 municipal officers. Meanwhile, these municipal officers are undergoing rigorous vetting processes, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, in addition to social background assessments and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being scrutinized for serial numbers and codes.
