**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints**

In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily removed from duty following two formal complaints since the state police assumed control of local security on March 7th. According to the Secretary of Citizen Security in Baja California, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the complaints were made to the State Attorney General’s Office and the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We’ve received complaints about the state police, leading to two formal cases under investigation.” He also mentioned that allegations circulating on social media are being examined, but no additional formal reports have been filed.

Regarding the four officers, Carrillo Rodríguez explained they have been reassigned for safety while the Internal Control Body conducts its investigation. “There is no evidence linking them to the accusations, but they have been reassigned for the time being,” he said.

Since the State Police took over security duties in Rosarito, replacing 264 municipal officers, the local force is undergoing comprehensive evaluations, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, along with social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

While holding officers accountable is not commonplace, this action may signal the beginning of much-needed reforms in Rosarito’s security forces.
