**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily relieved of duty in Rosarito after the filing of two formal complaints. The State Police assumed control of local security on March 7th, replacing the municipal police force, but recent developments have raised concerns.

As reported by the Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, one of the complaints has been lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while the second has been filed with the Internal Control Body of the security department. Carrillo Rodríguez commented, “We’ve had individuals step forward with grievances against the state police. There are currently two formal cases under investigation.”

The Secretary also noted that while there have been rumors circulating on social media, no further formal complaints have been made at this time.

**Officers Reassigned, No Concrete Evidence Yet**

Discussing the status of the officers involved, Carrillo Rodríguez clarified that they have been temporarily reassigned for their safety while investigations proceed. He emphasized, “There is no concrete evidence connecting them to the allegations, yet they have been reassigned during our inquiries.”

The State Police’s takeover on March 7th included the replacement of 264 municipal officers, who are now undergoing extensive evaluations such as psychological, medical, toxicology tests, social background checks, and polygraph exams to ensure their suitability. Additionally, their firearms are being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

This accountability move towards officers is uncommon, but it is essential for justice and integrity within the force. It is hoped that this will usher in necessary reform in Rosarito’s security forces.
