**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Reassigned in Rosarito Amid Complaints**

In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily removed from their duties following formal complaints that have arisen since they took over local security on March 7th. According to Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, one complaint has been filed with the State Attorney General’s Office and the other with the Internal Control Body of the security department.

“We have received complaints about the state police. Currently, two formal cases are under investigation,” said Carrillo Rodríguez. He also mentioned rumors circulating on social media are being reviewed, though no additional formal reports have been filed.

**Officers Relocated During Investigation**

Carrillo Rodríguez clarified that the four officers have been reassigned to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation by the Internal Control Body. “There isn’t any concrete evidence connecting them to the accusations yet, but they’ve been reassigned for their safety and to maintain the integrity of the investigation,” he explained.

Since early March, the State Police has been managing security in Rosarito, replacing the 264 municipal officers who are undergoing rigorous vetting procedures, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, social background checks, and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being inspected for serial numbers and codes.

It’s promising to see accountability in action, and many hope this ushers in a comprehensive clean-up of Rosarito’s security forces.
