**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Suspended in Rosarito After Complaints**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily suspended from their duties in Rosarito following two formal complaints. These actions came after the state police assumed control of local security on March 7th.

According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the Secretary of Citizen Security in Baja California, one complaint has been lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other has been filed with the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We have received complaints regarding the activities of the state police. Currently, there are two formal cases under investigation.” Additionally, he mentioned that allegations circulating on social media are being looked into, although no further formal complaints have been reported.

Regarding the officers in question, Carrillo Rodríguez explained that they have been reassigned for safety reasons while an internal investigation is underway. “There is no concrete evidence linking them to the allegations, but they have been relocated while we conduct a thorough investigation,” he added.

Since taking over security responsibilities on March 7th, the State Police have replaced 264 municipal officers who are currently undergoing a vetting process which includes psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being examined for serial numbers and codes.

This incident highlights a significant move towards accountability within law enforcement in Rosarito. It underscores the need for a rigorous review and reform of the security forces to ensure public trust and safety.
