**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Following Complaints**
In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily relieved of their duties after two formal complaints were lodged. This comes after the State Police took over local security operations on March 7th. According to the Secretary of Citizen Security in Baja California, Laureano Carrillo RodrÃguez, one of these complaints is being handled by the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other is under review by the Internal Control Body of the security department.
“We’ve received complaints regarding the state police, and we’re taking them seriously. There are two formal cases currently under investigation,” noted Carrillo RodrÃguez. He added that while there are other allegations circulating on social media, no additional formal complaints have been filed at this time.
**Officers Reassigned During Investigation**
Carrillo RodrÃguez clarified that the four officers have been reassigned to different duties for safety reasons during the ongoing investigation by the Internal Control Body. “At this point, there’s no concrete evidence connecting these officers to the accusations. However, they’ve been moved to ensure a thorough investigation,” he stated.
Since assuming control over security on March 7th, the State Police have replaced 264 municipal officers in Rosarito. These municipal officers are now undergoing rigorous psychological, medical, and toxicology evaluations, alongside social background checks and polygraph tests as part of a comprehensive vetting process. Additionally, their firearms are being thoroughly inspected.
