**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Relocated Amid Complaints in Rosarito**

In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have recently been reassigned following two official complaints that arose after the state took control of local security operations on March 7th. According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other was presented to the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We’ve received formal complaints about the state police and are in the process of investigating.” He also acknowledged some circulating allegations on social media, but noted that no further formal reports have been introduced.

The officers involved have been relocated as a precautionary measure, while the Internal Control Body continues its investigation. Carrillo Rodríguez added, “While there is currently no evidence connecting the officers to the charges, their reassignment is a precaution as the inquiries unfold.”

Since March 7th, the State Police have assumed responsibility for security in Rosarito, taking over from 264 municipal officers undergoing rigorous vetting, which includes psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, alongside background and polygraph exams. There is also a thorough inspection of their firearms to verify serial numbers and codes.

Ensuring accountability within the police force is crucial, and this development may mark a step towards enhanced integrity within Rosarito’s security services.
