According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, one complaint was submitted to the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other went to the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez shared that the allegations against these officers are under investigation, and that the police are also examining claims circulating on social media. The Secretary clarified that the officers in question have been relocated as a precautionary measure during the ongoing investigation by the Internal Control Body. “There is no evidence at this time linking these officers to any misconduct, but they have been reassigned for now,” he explained.

The State Police took over the security operations from the 264 municipal officers, who are currently undergoing comprehensive assessments including psychological, medical, and substance testing. Their backgrounds and the status of their firearms are also under review as part of a thorough vetting process.
