**Four State Police Officers in Rosarito Temporarily Reassigned Amid Complaints**

In Rosarito, four state police officers have been temporarily removed from their duties following two formal complaints. The action comes after the state police assumed responsibility for local security on March 7th. The Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, confirmed the developments.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated that one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, and another was directed to the Internal Control Body of the security department. “We are investigating these complaints seriously,” he said, emphasizing that inquiries are also being conducted into allegations that have surfaced on social media, though no additional formal complaints have been filed.

As for the four officers, they have been reassigned while the Internal Control Body conducts its investigation. “There’s no concrete evidence implicating them yet, but moving them is a precautionary step,” Carrillo Rodríguez added.

This change in command followed the introduction of the state police, who took over from the 264 municipal officers. These municipal officers are currently undergoing extensive checks, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background assessments and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being inspected.

While accountability in law enforcement is crucial, Rosarito’s security forces are now facing significant scrutiny. This development may mark the start of broader reforms in the region.
