Three police officers assigned to Playas de Rosarito have been formally charged with abuse of authority in separate incidents.

According to a statement from the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Rosarito, José María “N” and Germán Alonso “N” were linked to an incident that occurred on December 13, 2022.

In a separate case, Guadalupe “N”, an officer from the Commercial Police, was charged in connection with an event that took place on December 5, 2023, involving a citizen at the Villa Floresta shopping plaza.

In other news, authorities successfully rescued a dog living in abusive conditions in the López Gutiérrez neighborhood. The animal was found without food, water, and exposed to the sun after an anonymous tip-off. The State Investigation Agency conducted a search, seized the pet, and placed it under protective custody. Legal consequences are anticipated for the owner.

Additionally, José Antonio “N” was arrested on August 5 for attempting to steal items worth 4,481 pesos from a self-checkout lane. He was caught by security personnel while trying to flee and is now in preventive detention. On the same day, Edgar Omar “N” was apprehended for stealing two cases of beer from a convenience store. He was also brought before a judge and formally charged.
