**Exciting Fishing Event Alert: ‘El Bebé’ Tournament in Rosarito Kicks Off March 30th**

Prepare your fishing gear, as the scenic Playa El Bebé in Rosarito gears up to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, March 30th. Enthusiasts note that last year’s event attracted nearly 150 anglers from across Baja California and Southern California, setting expectations high for an even larger turnout this year.

This exciting tournament, sanctioned as part of the official calendar of SEPESCA BC, has noteworthy support from Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda’s administration, along with organization by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association. The hosting duties this year have been undertaken by the TJ Fishing Club, spearheaded by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.

Participants will gather early, with registration commencing at 5:00 AM, followed by the official start at 7:00 AM. Enthusiasts have until 1:00 PM for their catches to be weighed in, with prizes awarded across several categories such as mojarra, women’s, children’s, and more. Raffles and locally-sourced food will add to the festive atmosphere.

Fisher folk interested in diving into the competitive waters or learning more can reach out for details on registration and rules by contacting 664 493 6014, or via email at tjfishingclub@gmail.com. Additional information is available on their website.

In a nod of support, Victor Hugo Méndez, head of Sport Fishing at SEPESCA BC, has provided financial assistance to help with organizing costs.

For those eager to join, sign-ups are possible the day of the event, or ahead of time at Pesca del Mar Outdoors in Ensenada or Fishing Crew Store in La Gloria.

As the tournament series continues, subsequent rounds will be held on April 27th at Sunset Beach in Ensenada, and on July 20th at Playa El Pabellón in San Quintín. Successful anglers from these events will get the chance to represent Baja California at the VI National Beach Sport Fishing Championship in Playa Manzanilla, Jalisco, on September 19-20.
