**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Reassigned Amid Investigations in Rosarito**

Four officers from the State Police have been temporarily reassigned in Rosarito following two formal complaints after the state police assumed control of local security operations on March 7th. According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, one of these complaints has been filed with the State Attorney General’s Office and the other with the Internal Control Body of the security department.

Carrillo Rodríguez stated, “We’ve had complaints from citizens concerning state police officers. Currently, two formal allegations are under investigation.” He also mentioned that while there are allegations circulating on social media, no additional formal complaints have been filed at this time.

**Officers Reassigned During Ongoing Investigations**

While the investigations proceed, the four officers in question have been reassigned to different duties as a precautionary measure. Carrillo Rodríguez emphasized, “There is no concrete evidence linking them to the accusations, but for safety measures, they’ve been reassigned during our investigation.”

Since the 7th of March, the State Police have replaced the city’s 264 municipal officers, who are now undergoing a rigorous vetting process that includes psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, social background checks, and polygraph exams. Even their firearms are being inspected thoroughly for serial numbers and registration codes.

While accountability isn’t always seen this swiftly, hope remains that this could signify the start of a necessary reform within Rosarito’s security forces.
