In Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily reassigned following two formal complaints since they took over local security on March 7th. According to Baja California’s Secretary of Citizen Security, Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the complaints were lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office and the Internal Control Body of the security department.
“We have received complaints about the state police. Currently, there are two formal cases under investigation,” said Carrillo Rodríguez. He also mentioned that while there have been allegations on social media, no additional official reports have been made.

Carrillo Rodríguez explained that the four officers have been moved for safety reasons during the investigation by the Internal Control Body. “There is no concrete evidence linking them to the accusations; however, they have been reassigned while the investigation continues,” he elaborated.
Since the State Police took charge on March 7th, Rosarito’s 264 municipal officers are undergoing extensive evaluations, including psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, as well as social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being inspected.
