Prepare for an exciting day of angling at the “El Bebé” Fishing Tournament in Rosarito on March 30th. Rosarito’s Playa El Bebé is set to host the first round of Baja California’s state fishing competition this Sunday, promising a robust turnout. Last year, almost 150 anglers from the state and Southern California gathered for this event.
This tournament marks the beginning of a series of selective beach fishing competitions, aimed at qualifying participants for the State Championship. Under the official calendar of SEPESCA BC and with the support of Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the tournament is arranged by the Baja California Fishing Clubs Association and hosted by TJ Fishing Club, represented by Nemesio Salazar Vázquez and Omar Reyes Moreno.
Anglers can register starting at 5:00 AM on Sunday, with fishing kicking off at 7:00 AM and the weigh-in closing at 1:00 PM. Entrants in line by the cutoff time will still be eligible to compete. Prizes will be awarded in categories such as children’s, women’s, mojarra, among others, along with raffles and local fish delicacies.
