**Athletic Race for a Cause Announced**

The third edition of the charity athletic race titled “Prevention in Action” is set to take place on Sunday, November 17. Organized by the non-profit organization Pro Oncavi A.C., the event aims to raise awareness about men’s health, particularly focusing on preventing and diagnosing cancers such as prostate, colorectal, and lung cancer.

Homero Fuentes de la Peña, a clinical oncologist and the president of Pro Oncavi, emphasized the importance of this event in promoting men’s health initiatives during this dedicated month. The 10-kilometer race will begin at 7:30 AM from parking lot “J” at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC).

Open to both men and women, the event has a registration fee of 200 pesos which will be entirely invested in programs for the early detection of cancer in men. Participants will receive t-shirts, with the first 500 registrants guaranteed to get one, and medals will be awarded to the first thousand finishers.

T-shirt distribution for those with early registration numbers from 001 to 500 will occur on Saturday, November 16, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM at UABC’s parking lot “J”. Registration numbers can be purchased at several locations, including the Pro Oncavi office on Leona Vicario, at various IMDET offices, local pharmacies, and Sima Café.

The announcement event featured city council members, including Gina Arana and Miguel Loza, as well as Luis Rodolfo Enríquez, a representative from IMDET, showing their support for the cause.
