### Enjoy Delicious Pizza and Support Children with Cancer at the “Pizzatón” Event in Tijuana

Get ready to savor some mouth-watering pizza while contributing to a noble cause! This Friday, September 6, Tijuana will host the “Pizzatón,” an event where seven local pizzerias will collaborate to raise funds for the Patronato del Hospital General de Tijuana (HGT). The collected funds will be used to support a recovery house for children diagnosed with cancer, allowing them to stay during their treatment and obtain necessary medications and supplies for the hospital.

Carolina Reyes de la Parra, the general director of the Patronato HGT, highlighted that the recovery house offers 16 double rooms. Each room provides a child and an accompanying adult with a safe place to stay, along with access to meals, laundry services, and transportation to the HGT. Currently, eight rooms are occupied, serving children primarily from Ensenada and San Quintín.

Reyes de la Parra emphasized, “As long as they are in active treatment, they can stay for as long as needed, even during the five-year surveillance stage. The doors are also open to those coming from San Quintín or Mandadero.”

Mario Alberto Ornelas, Chief of Pediatric Oncology at HGT, mentioned that 49 children are currently under active treatment, and 350 patients are in remission. The most common types of cancer affecting these children include leukemia, brain tumors, and lymphoma.

Operating the recovery house annually costs between 10 and 12 million pesos. To meet these expenses, various fundraising events are organized, one of which is the “Pizzatón.”

Reyes de la Parra explained that each participating establishment has selected a particular dish, and the proceeds from these dishes will be entirely donated to the Patronato HGT. Here are the pizzerias and their selected dishes:

– **Hornero Restaurante** – Pepperoni Pizza
– **Hornero Express (Cacho, Hipódromo, Otay)** – Cheese Pizza
– **Mama Mía (Cacho, Las Huertas, Otay)** – Chicago-Style Pizza
– **Gou Gou Pizza (All branches)** – Pizza Bites
– **Pizza Cinema (Otay and Agua Caliente)** – Pepperoni Pizza
– **Tony’s Pizza** – Medium Pepperoni Pizza
