### Shining Moments at the Paris 2024 Paralympics
Amidst an influx of grim political news, the Paris 2024 Paralympics provided a breath of fresh air. The event was a radiant showcase of pride, joy, and the extraordinary abilities of men and women with various disabilities. These athletes, guided by their dedicated coaches, demonstrated incredible strength and determination, mesmerizing the audience with their performances.
From the moment they were selected to compete, these athletes were already winners. Despite physical challenges, whether congenital or due to accidents, they showed relentless spirit and resilience that many people might find unimaginable. The 17 medals won were a testament to their hard work and perseverance. Their smiles and celebrations, even when not finishing in first place, were inspiring reminders of the human spirit’s capacity to overcome obstacles.
The Paralympics also highlighted a significant societal issue: the need for improved attention and resources for people with disabilities. In 2020, according to INEGI, out of a population of over 112 million in Mexico, nearly six million had some form of disability. The most common challenges included mobility issues and visual impairments. With the current population estimated at around 130 million, this highlights an urgent need for better urban infrastructure and therapeutic services to support these individuals. Government initiatives and societal efforts must be ramped up to provide better opportunities and quality of life for people with disabilities.

Political behavior has shifted, where actions once condemned are now openly practiced and celebrated by the dominant political class. This apparent amnesia and lack of shame further disillusion the public.
#### Admiration for Political Integrity
From outside political affiliations, figures like Don Salvador Rosas Magallón and Zeferino Sánchez Hidalgo and their families continue to command respect. Likewise, Cecilia Barone de Castellanos and many committed members of PAN maintain their integrity. Unfortunately, such individuals are in the minority, as the party suffers from leadership corruption.
