### Bank Loan Process Continues for Street Reconstruction in Otay Industrial Zone: AIMO
The Otay industrial sector is pushing forward with efforts to secure a loan from the North American Development Bank (NADBank) to reconstruct 25 kilometers of deteriorating roads. This project, valued at 700 million pesos and set for a 15-year repayment period, aims to address the badly damaged streets that have affected cargo trucks and the goods they carry.
Jose Luis Contreras Valenzuela, president of the Otay Industrial Business Association (AIMO), emphasized their ongoing collaboration with NADBank. “We haven’t given up on this project. We’re continuing to work with the financial institution responsible for providing the funds. We expect to finalize something in the coming days,” Contreras Valenzuela stated.
In addition to improving the roadways, the proposed renovations will also benefit local businesses, schools, residential areas, and the nearby Municipal Police command center. Contreras Valenzuela suggested that the Tijuana City Council should contribute 40 million pesos annually to the loan repayment, which accounts for 30% of the property tax collected in the area.
“The city lacks projects that generate investment. We’re coming in with both a project and a source of investment. They can’t say no,” reiterated the AIMO president.
The industrial sector is also advocating for the refurbishment of industrial buildings as part of a broader improvement initiative. “We just need the authorities and city leaders to commit,” he concluded.
