**Four State Police Officers Temporarily Removed in Rosarito Amid Complaints**

In a recent development from Rosarito, four officers from the State Police have been temporarily relieved of their duties following two formal complaints. This action comes in the wake of the state police assuming control of local security on March 7th.

According to Laureano Carrillo Rodríguez, the Secretary of Citizen Security for Baja California, one complaint was lodged with the State Attorney General’s Office, while the other was submitted to the Internal Control Body of the security department. “We’ve had people come forward with complaints about the state police. So far, there are two formal cases, and we are investigating,” said Carrillo Rodríguez.

He also addressed various allegations circulating on social media, noting that these are under review, although no additional formal reports have been filed.

**Officers Reassigned, Pending Investigation**

Concerning the status of the four officers, Carrillo Rodríguez clarified that they have been reassigned for safety reasons while the Internal Control Body conducts its investigation. “There is no evidence linking them to the accusations, but they have been reassigned while we investigate,” he explained.

Since the shift in security control on March 7th, the State Police have taken the reins, replacing the 264 municipal officers who are currently undergoing a comprehensive vetting process. This includes psychological, medical, and toxicology tests, along with social background checks and polygraph exams. Their firearms are also being scrutinized for serial numbers and codes.

This move marks a significant step towards accountability in Rosarito’s security forces. It is hoped that this will be the beginning of an essential clean-up in local law enforcement.
