## Arrested for Plotting the Murder of His Wife, Nurse Gabriela Gutiérrez

Tijuana – Manuel N. has been detained for his alleged role as the intellectual author behind the murder of his wife, nurse Gabriela Gutiérrez. The tragic incident occurred on July 12th in front of their home on Batalla de Oaxaca Street in the Mariano Matamoros neighborhood of Tijuana. The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) executed the arrest warrant without resistance in a public area.
Ironically, Manuel N. had been leading protests demanding justice for the attack on Gabriela Gutiérrez, which had shocked the Tijuana community, particularly the healthcare sector at the Maternal and Child Hospital where she was employed. The investigation revealed that the motive was jealousy, as the couple, despite ending their relationship, continued living together.
“The primary issue was the end of their relationship and the future relationship of the victim. Inconsistencies in declarations made by Manuel N. and his demanding behavior raised suspicions, coupled with his demeanor following the event—even handling the victim’s belongings,” explained Central Prosecutor Rafael Orozco.
The case remains open as additional suspects are believed to be involved. Manuel N.’s role was limited to organizing the crime, which resulted in a point-blank fatality at 8:35 am on that fateful Friday.
“This, along with information from the victim’s close circle, who also knew the accused well, led us to question his behavior. It ultimately allowed us to identify his conduct,” Orozco emphasized.
“Although he was still technically her husband, their romantic relationship had ended, and she was involved with someone else. This was thoroughly validated, confirming her relationship status was not with another person,” clarified the prosecutor.
