### Two Baja California Sur State Police Officers Go Missing

Since Saturday, September 21st, two officers from the Baja California Sur State Preventive Police, José Gabriel Morales Meza and Yair Radilla Flores, both aged 30, have been reported missing. The officers, who were stationed in Ciudad Constitución in the municipality of Comondú, were last seen after finishing their shift and traveling in a white Honda Ridgeline without license plates.

On Monday, September 23rd, the State Public Security Department of Baja California Sur confirmed their disappearance by releasing a search notice for both the officers and their vehicle. Morales Meza is described as being of medium height and light complexion, with a noticeable mole on the left side of his nose and a tattoo of four lions on his left arm. Radilla Flores is of medium height and dark complexion, with a distinctive mole on the upper left side of his nose.

In response to their disappearance, the State Public Security Board has initiated a special search operation which included a house raid, but yielded no positive results. The first reports of their missing status emerged after the officers’ families notified authorities due to their inability to locate them.

In addition to the disappearance of José Gabriel Morales Meza and Yair Radilla Flores, other regions in Mexico have reported issues of missing police officers, highlighting a concerning trend.

For instance, on September 10th, two municipal police officers were reported missing in the state of Jalisco. They were last seen patrolling the outskirts of Guadalajara. Despite extensive search operations, their whereabouts remain unknown.

In another case, the state of Michoacán has documented several instances of law enforcement officers going missing in areas with high cartel activity. These disappearances often complicate the efforts to maintain security and law enforcement in these regions, exacerbating the challenges faced by local authorities.
