The announcement was made through an official statement shared by MiniCup Mexico on their social media channels.

“We are pleased to announce that the second edition of MiniCup Mexico 2025, an event that promises to be a landmark in youth basketball for the 2010-2011 category,” part of the statement revealed.

Similar to the previous edition, the tournament will feature teams from the youth divisions of Spain’s Liga Endesa ACB, Liga Chevron CIBACOPA, and Liga Caliente LNBP.

In 2025, the tournament will run from April 25 to April 27, featuring a total of 8 participating teams. These will include three teams each from Liga CIBACOPA and Liga LNBP, one from Liga Endesa ACB in Spain, and, of course, the host team, Tijuana Zonkeys.

Unlike the first edition, both Liga CIBACOPA and Liga LNBP will have a qualification process for participating teams.

During the initial event, the reigning champions, Pioneros de Los Mochis, secured victory by defeating Barcelona with a final score of 83 to 71. Other participants included: Caballeros de Culiacán, Tijuana Zonkeys, Abejas de León, Halcones Rojos de Veracruz, Ángeles de la Ciudad de México, and Halcones de Xalapa.
