**Deadly Shooting in the Viñas del Sol Neighborhood of Mexicali Leaves One Dead**
In a tragic incident that shook the community, three young individuals were targeted by armed assailants outside a home in the Viñas del Sol neighborhood on the west side of Mexicali late Friday night, October 11th. The attack resulted in one fatality.
Local authorities were alerted following an emergency call about the shooting in front of the house numbered 919 on Realejos Avenue. Upon arrival, officers met with the homeowner and his daughter, the latter being among those injured.
The homeowner recounted being inside when gunshots rang out. Rushing outside, he discovered his 16-year-old daughter, Clara Elizabeth, had sustained a gunshot wound to her arm. Clara later revealed that four armed men approached and began firing at them.
Giovanny Leal Ramírez, aged 23 and her boyfriend, suffered severe injuries with gunshots to his back, chest, and forearm. Another young man, unidentified at this time, lost his life on the scene. He was described as about 1.70 meters tall and wearing dark clothing, having been struck by bullets in the back and right leg.
The perpetrators fled in a new model, white, four-door vehicle. Law enforcement officials recovered 18 shell casings of 9mm caliber on site. The area was promptly cordoned off by municipal police as investigators gathered further evidence and conducted interviews.
