**Literary Encounter Successfully Concludes in Mexicali**
The International Writers’ Meeting, Tiempo de Literatura, successfully concluded its latest edition, held from October 24 to 26 at various venues in the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) Campus Mexicali. Over the course of three vibrant days, the event saw the participation of more than 40 authors from Mexico, the United States, and various parts of Latin America.
The event, organized by UABC’s Division of Culture and Science Extension and overseen by Vanessa Verdugo González, brought together writers for readings, editorial presentations, and panel discussions. Since its establishment by storyteller Elma Correa in 2008, the Encuentro Internacional de Escritores has become a pivotal platform for Spanish-language literature from across the globe.
“We believe we are an event that has positioned itself within the landscape of literary meetings, festivals, and book fairs in the country. We serve as an important destination and platform for writers and the general community, which are essential to our existence,” said coordinators Elma Correa and Antonio León.
Notable participants in the 13th edition included Daniela Ascencio, Cristian Gómez Olivares, Erika Said, and many others. The event also featured young emerging writers from Baja California, under the age of 30, such as Ángel Manuel Nuño and Brayham Contreras, who shared their works with the audience.
