### Armed Incident on Christmas Eve Leaves Two Dead and Two Injured in Mexicali Valley
On Christmas Eve in Ciudad Morelos, Mexicali Valley, a tragic armed assault resulted in two fatalities and two injuries. The event took place around 10 p.m. at a residence on México Sur Street and Insurgentes Avenue during a social gathering. Suddenly, a dark-colored Mazda vehicle arrived, and four masked individuals emerged, armed with rifles, and began shooting at those in attendance.
Upon receiving emergency calls, officers from the Public Security Department of Mexicali responded promptly to the scene. They discovered two men with gunshot wounds to the head lying on the ground. Paramedics from the Mexican Red Cross were called, but both men were confirmed dead at the scene.
The deceased were identified as Manuel de Jesús, aged 45, and Bernardo Alvarado, aged 23. Officials from the State Attorney General’s Office secured the area and collected approximately 20 shell casings as part of their investigation.
In addition, two more individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the Cidade Morelos health center. The injured were identified as Alexander Torres, 20, who sustained a bullet wound to the left lung, and Nadia Monserrat, 24, who suffered a gunshot wound to the left hip.
