**Governor Marina del Pilar’s Third Government Report in Mexicali**
Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda recently delivered her third government report in Mexicali, Baja California’s capital. During her address, she highlighted significant advancements in public welfare, infrastructure, and healthcare achieved during her administration.
In terms of infrastructure, the governor detailed the construction of several major bridges in 2024. Key projects include a bridge on the Central Axis and the road interchange at Lázaro Cárdenas and Venustiano Carranza, expected to be completed by the end of November. She also emphasized the beginning of the second phase of Laguna México Park, which involves an investment of 265 million pesos.
“We will continue to invest in everything Baja California needs over the next three years. The Lázaro Cárdenas and Carranza project is almost complete, and many neighborhoods will benefit from these new roads,” Marina del Pilar stated.
In a bid to support families, she discussed the introduction of the “Violet Card” for single mothers, which more than 100,000 women in Mexicali and San Felipe currently use. “They don’t just receive financial aid; they also gain skills like nail art, hair cutting, and baking, leading to many success stories,” she remarked.
Addressing security, the governor acknowledged ongoing efforts with municipal offices, the State Security and Citizen Protection Secretariat, and the General Prosecutor’s Office. However, she admitted that results are yet unsatisfactory and that work will continue, with a focus on reducing homicides and eradicating violence against women.
Marina del Pilar concluded by expressing gratitude to her team for their collective efforts over the past three years and underscored the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the upcoming three years of her tenure.
