Carlos King Ristori Appointed as Head of Tijuana’s Municipal Sports Institute
Carlos King Ristori has taken on the role of director at the Municipal Sports Institute of Tijuana (IMDET), bringing nearly three decades of experience to the position. His robust track record includes positions that span from early roles as a coordinator and promoter in 1992 to legislative liaison and various leadership roles within both municipal and state sports programs.
“We’re excited about this opportunity from Mayor Ismael BurgueƱo and are committed to collaborating with the community to support athletes and popular sports,” King Ristori said. With a strategic plan aiming to revitalize and upgrade sports facilities, he identified the need for substantial investment in infrastructure to ensure athletes have the opportunity to represent their city efficiently.
King Ristori also plans to sustain successful sports programs, like the Delegational Athletic Series, potentially moving events from Saturdays to Sundays to accommodate greater participation and reduce city traffic.
Currently managing a budget of 35 million pesos, with an additional 18 million generated through activities, King Ristori aims to secure further funding to enhance sports facilities and opportunities. Negotiations are underway with state entities to formalize the transfer of management for several sports facilities currently under state ownership.
