**Leader of Kidnappers in Ensenada Had Ties to Victim’s Family**
A kidnapping incident that occurred on August 28 in Ensenada has taken an alarming turn as it was revealed that the leader of the kidnapping group was closely acquainted with the victim’s family. This information was disclosed by María Elena Andrade Ramírez, the state attorney general, during a press conference in Tijuana.
The young woman was abducted on her way to work, intercepted by a vehicle carrying two armed men who forced her into their car. The event took place on Magisterio Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets. The kidnappers’ Jeep was later found along with a mobile phone on Chopo and A Streets in the Granjas del Gallo neighborhood.
As soon as the abduction was reported, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit was activated, and contact was made with the family, who had already received a ransom demand from the captors that evening.
“That night, we received the call in which a significant amount of money was demanded for the young woman’s release. We immediately employed advanced technology and trained personnel to combat the kidnapping,” explained Ramírez.
Notably, the kidnapper’s leader knew the victim’s family well and even called her father a day before the abduction, suggesting a significant level of trust. The captors were apprehended in a rural area near Maneadero.
Additionally, on the day of the kidnapping, a six-year-old boy named Matías, the son of one of the kidnappers, was also present. The criminals face potential sentences of up to 60 years in prison.
