**Who is Jorge Álvarez Máynez?**

Born on July 8, 1985, in Zacatecas, Jorge Álvarez Máynez holds a degree in International Relations from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). He also possesses Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Public Policy, International Studies, and Constitutional Law and Human Rights.

Having started his political journey in 2003 with the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), Álvarez Máynez later served as a councilman in Zacatecas, before being elected as a state deputy. In 2013, he joined Movimiento Ciudadano and held several key positions, including Organization and Political Action Secretary and a federal deputy for the party.

As a discernible figure in MC, Álvarez Máynez most recently coordinated the presidential campaign for Samuel García before García withdrew his candidacy. In the 2024 presidential elections, Álvarez Máynez placed third, securing over 5.8 million votes.
