#### Workers Camp Out to Demand Payment

In Tijuana, employees of Icon Aircraft, a company specializing in aerospace manufacturing, have reported that they have not received their salaries for over a month. As a result, many have resorted to alternative means to cover their living expenses.

Nayeli Serrano, a production worker, recalled that attempts were made to reach an agreement through the Conciliation and Arbitration Board. Failing that, the workers decided to file a lawsuit with a labor court.

Serrano explained that Co-Production, the hiring company based in Las Torres de Tijuana, is responsible for making salary payments but has refused to do so. “They tell us they are not responsible for our liquidity because we work for a division called ICON, but ultimately, Co-Production is our actual employer,” she stated.

Nayeli noted that she has had to sell various products, organize raffles, and ask for donations to support her family. “Our real employer, according to our paycheck, is Co-Production. We will continue to demand our rights from them,” she emphasized.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STP) has advised the affected 207 employees to remain patient as the processing of their claims could be lengthy.

Meanwhile, workers have set up a camp at the company’s premises to pressure those responsible into settling their payments. The workers are also concerned about company owners sending suppliers to remove inventory from the premises, which could affect their chances of receiving payment. “At least with the machinery, we have some guarantee of payment. We won’t have work until our lawsuit is resolved,” one employee added.
