Hera HSBC Celebrates Women

“Join us at the Hera HSBC Festival, celebrating female talent and breaking barriers in the music industry. Witness powerful performances by diverse women, paving the way for a more inclusive future.”

### Festival Hera HSBC: A Celebration of Female Talent

As per statistics from a renowned music magazine, only 12.8% of the compositions of a thousand English songs were created by women. Moreover, out of the total number of artists studied, women represent 22.3%, with a mere 2.8% functioning as producers.

To address this disparity and showcase the immense talent of women, the Hera HSBC Festival has been conceived. This festival, headlined by artists such as Camila Cabello, Danna Paola, Demi Lovato, María Becerra, Ximena Sariñana, and the band Evanescence, aims to provide an enriching musical and cultural experience through female talent. The event is set to take place on August 24th at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, located near the Mexico City International Airport.

Ximena Sariñana, a co-creator of the festival, stated, “Today, we have countless projects led by women of various genres and scales who are proudly highlighting their femininity as a core part of their work.” Despite the festival making its debut, Sariñana is optimistic but acknowledges ongoing challenges in an industry predominantly occupied by men.

“The aim is not only to feature women on stage singing but also to shine a light on the incredible women working as managers, monitors, producers, technicians, security personnel, and designers, who have interesting projects benefitting society,” noted the artist and actress known for her role in the newly released series “Las Azules.”

Sariñana also mentioned the competitive nature of live events, which posed challenges in raising the initial interest for the festival. “Convincing the public to invest in attending a first-time festival amidst an impressive array of event options is tough,” she remarked, extending an invitation to the male audience as well. “Men are definitely welcome. This festival seeks to include everyone, although it’s conceived, planned, and executed by women,” she clarified.

Reflecting on the festival’s vision, Sariñana emphasized its inclusive and diverse approach. “We wanted it to encompass all musical genres and all expressions of womanhood, involving trans artists, members of the LGTBQ+ community, and indigenous women, representing a broad spectrum from regional Mexican to other global sounds,” she explained.

In conjunction with the festival and the launch of her EP “Ojos Diamantes,” Sariñana highlighted the female collective effort behind the production, involving female audio engineers, designers, and producers. “I have so much more to say and many songs to share. Through this, we hope to shift perceptions about the role of women in different industries,” she concluded.

### Secondary Article: Breaking the Glass Ceiling in the Music Industry

In related news, a recent study highlighted the lack of female representation in the music production field, with women making up only 2.1% of producers across the industry. Efforts are being made globally to bridge this gap, with several initiatives such as workshops, scholarships, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering women in music production.

One notable initiative is the Women in Music Production mentorship program, which has garnered support from prominent artists and producers. This program focuses on providing female artists with the resources and network required to thrive in this male-dominated field.

Additionally, festivals like the Hera HSBC Festival play a crucial role in providing platforms for female talent, both on-stage and behind the scenes. The increasing visibility and acknowledgment of female contributions are slowly but surely contributing to a more balanced and inclusive industry.

As we see more female-led projects gaining recognition and success, it becomes evident that the music industry is undergoing a much-needed transformation, paving the way for future generations of female musicians and producers.
