### Golf Tournament to Benefit Children with Heart Conditions
A golf tournament organized by alumni of Instituto México is set to support newborns with heart issues by funding essential cardiovascular operations. During a press conference, the details of the upcoming tournament, scheduled for August 23 starting at 7:00 AM at Club Campestre Tijuana, were unveiled.
Approximately 144 players are expected to participate in the event, with all proceeds going to Bebé Cardio A.C. This foundation provides cardiology and pediatric care to children and adolescents with heart defects. The organization aims to conduct five operations monthly, currently having a waiting list of 30 infants who require surgery for survival.
José Luis Martínez, a member of the Golf Committee, mentioned that the tournament will feature three categories: A, B, and Petardos. There will be 36 trophies and numerous prizes for the competitors. Martínez also called on other clubs and committees to support these charitable foundations.
“We are very pleased because besides enjoying a game we love, this is the third time our tournament will benefit Bebé Cardio. This foundation provides interventional pediatric cardiology for children and teenagers,” he remarked.
Martínez highlighted the enthusiastic participation of alumni in previous tournaments and expressed hope for the same level of enthusiasm this year. He noted that one in every 100 babies is born with a heart condition, making it the second leading cause of death among children under five in Mexico.
