**Five National Guard Agents Linked to Prison Guard’s Murder in Tijuana**

Five agents from the National Guard have been linked to the murder of Adán Morales Flores, a prison guard in Tijuana. The incident occurred on June 12, 2024. The agents identified as Neftalí, Daniel Antonio, Juan Luis, José Luis, and Irving Manuel, face serious charges in connection to the crime.

According to witnesses, the events unfolded around 2:00 AM in the Terrazas de San Bernardo neighborhood. Adán Morales and his godson were driving in a pickup truck when they were stopped by six National Guard agents. Kevin, who was driving, followed Directions to turn off the truck and step out, which resulted in him being assaulted and handcuffed face down on the ground by the agents.

A sixth agent witnessed but is not currently facing charges. During the confrontation, Adán remained in the truck with his hands raised until he too was ordered to exit. At that moment a gunshot was heard, allegedly fired by Neftalí, striking Adán on his left side.

Following this, officers allegedly manipulated the scene by planting a weapon near Adán’s lifeless body, seemingly to incriminate Kevin. Despite claims by the defense lawyer Rodrigo Castro Lama, disputing evidence validity and suggesting alcohol consumption as the cause for their intervention, Judge Reyna Rábago Lara found the actions unjustifiable and determined the murder was committed with an advantage as the guards outnumbered the victims and had firearms.

The judge ruled Neftalí as the primary suspect, while the others were classified as co-conspirators. Although a federal suspension allows the accused agents to remain free, they are held due to disciplinary action taken by the Ministry of National Defense for insubordination, located at a military base in Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The case continues under military jurisdiction.
