### Fundación Mi Chante to Honor Don José Sulaiman
The Fundación Mi Chante, committed to supporting young athletes’ dreams, will host its fifth Golf Tournament to honor Don José Sulaiman Chagnón. The event is slated for May 22, 2025, at the lush greens of the Tijuana Social and Sports Club.
Abelardo Peña Madrigal, President of FMC, announced the event at the Martes de Café press conference, led by Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council. Peña Madrigal highlighted that the foundation consistently acknowledges notable sports figures during its fundraising events. Past honorees include Mexican golfer Víctor Regalado, boxing legend Julio César Chávez, and multi-world boxing champion Érik “El Terrible” Morales.
This year, the foundation will pay tribute to Don José Sulaimán for his impactful work and legacy as the long-serving President of the WBC. His son, Mauricio Sulaimán, expressed gratitude on behalf of the family and congratulated Fundación Mi Chante for its commendable efforts in supporting young athletes in the country.
The press conference also featured other prominent figures such as Francisco Cabezas, President of CODEME; Juan Carlos Pelayo, President of FECOMBOX; and world champion Ángel “Alacrán” Ayala.
