Ángel “Tashiro” Fierro made a triumphant return to the boxing ring in Tijuana with a decisive knockout victory. After a lengthy absence, the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) champion defeated Eleazar Valenzuela in the main event hosted by Terrazas Boxing Promotions on Sunday, November 3, at Club Evolution Bar.
Fierro, fighting on home turf, ended the bout in the fifth round when the referee intervened due to the barrage of punches Valenzuela received. With this win, Fierro improved his record to 23-2-2 with 18 knockouts.
“I am very happy with this victory, especially here in Tijuana, where I began my career,” Fierro said. “It was a tough fight against an experienced opponent, but I’ve faced elite boxers before. I take every opponent seriously, which helped me secure the victory.”
Fierro expressed his eagerness to step into the ring again next year, aiming for an international fight card.
Promoter Ramón Terrazas, despite organizing only five fights for the evening, felt the event met expectations. “I would have liked more matches, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it wasn’t possible. However, each of the five fights featured were great, with knockouts and surprises, pleasing the audience,” Terrazas commented.
Terrazas has plans for another boxing event scheduled for mid-December to close out the year and will start planning for 2025 soon after.
