A federal investigation agent from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), identified as Halexy Guadalupe V., was tragically shot and killed around 1:00 PM on December 18, 2024, in Culiacán de Rosales, Sinaloa.

Omar Hamid García Harfuch, head of the SSPC, expressed his condolences via social media, stating, “A few moments ago, an investigative colleague from the Security Secretariat tragically lost his life here in Culiacán. Our deepest condolences to his family and our recognition for the daily work of the Security Cabinet to restore peace in Culiacán. This incident will not go unpunished, and those responsible will be prosecuted.”

The incident took place in the Villas del Río neighborhood near a commercial plaza between Miguel Tamayo Espinoza Avenue and Villa Ledozon. The federal official himself arrived at the crime scene and later led a security meeting with Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha Moya.

Witnesses reported that the attack was carried out by two men on a motorcycle who approached the agent while he was in a white vehicle and shot him at close range. It was also reported that one of the assailants sought refuge in a facility at the University of Durango, campus Culiacán.
